New Firefox is out!

Updated below and once more into the breach!

It's supposed to be ready for release tomorrow, but there's a build out today that is supposed to be it.

I'm running it, but I can't say that I'm real happy about it either. A lot of my extensions don't work. I can't close a tab(!), either with a middle click (evidently an extension did that), the button on the right that is supposed to close it, or right click on tab title, I've got double icons on the tab title (what the hell is that about?), and when I did try to close a tab through the file menu, it closed Firefox completely.

According to the about box, this is from 10/10/2006, which makes it from two weeks ago. I may have to upgrade again tomorrow.

Yeah, this must be a filler build, because it just doesn't feel right. If it is the correct build...

And another thing, I have three sites for my home pages, only two of them are opening up.

If this is the actual release, it's going to blow up in their face.

<2nd Update>

A neat trick that I see Blogger is doing now is as-you-go spell checking. Yeah Blogger!

I just found out that this is a function of Firefox 2.0, not Blogger! So it definitely belongs in this post, and isn't just an aside.

> Interesting. Firefox sees > as a correctly spelled word.

< Firefox sees < as an incorrectly spelled word.

</2nd Update>

Update!

After disabling a bunch of extensions, things are working a little better.

The extensions that I disable are:

Aardvark
Google Calendar Add-in
Tab Mix Plus
Tabbrowser Preferences
TargetAlert

Now I can close my tabs anyway I want. I just find it odd that the extensions would interfere like that.
