Windows 98 Windows Update - Cannot update

Sky King:
First, you may be able to resolve the certificate issue by installing the 98 SE "fixes" for this that MS supplied some years ago. In no particular order:

If that doesn't work, suggest you install the latest version of IE (6.01), or if already installed that you do a Repair (select IE 6.x in the Add&Remove Programs list, then click Remove, which should then give you the option to Repair the install).

If you do not have IE 6.x installed, grab that one from here:
This fixes the problem of a fresh install of Windows 98 SE. Tested.

*** Update
This entry doesn't display well in IE with Windows 98, not even the latest 6.x version. Works fine with Firefox. Go figure.

It seems that my links may be too long. Firefox handles it gracefully, but IE doesn't. The links are good, but the link text has spaces in it to try and show gracefully. Maybe time to try out that conditional hyphen? Eh.

Well, the spaces made it work. Renaming them.
