And how was your day from hell (6/6/6)?

I got out of bed that morning, and before I got out of the bedroom, I heard a transformer blow. We still had electricity, so it wasn't ours.

I get to my computer to find out that AIM is now retrying to connect, and I've got one light blinking on the cable modem. Cable is out. I try the TV next. Yep, cable is out. I call it in to Comcast and get a recording that they already know there's a problem. Fine.

No Internet, no TV. Over 7 hours later, I call back. No recording, I get somebody from India (sorry, but it helps to lose the accent, or at least tone it down), who says that there's absolutely no problem. He says he can schedule a tech out there. OK. I wait. He can't get it scheduled, so he puts me on hold. He's still having troubles getting it scheduled, can I hold for about 5 minutes? OK. He finally comes back and tells me that a tech has been scheduled between 11AM and 2PM, and even though it's past 11AM, they will be there before 2PM. Interesting as the time is now 3:45PM. I didn't say a word about it, because I knew that I didn't need a technician at my house, that tech needed to be where the problem actually was.

I called around 6PM, only to hear the recording that they are again suffering problems in my area.

Around 11PM, Internet started working, but the TV was still down. It has occasional problems, but it's fine. That is, until 11:30PM, where it drops out again. Cable modem is showing a good connection, and I ping 4.4.4.4, I get the cable modem response, and I get one further hope. That's it. I check the TV. Interestingly enough I've got a working channel. I go through the channels and find that over half are missing, mostly the non-local channels.

I call Comcast again. This time there is no recording, and I menu to the point that says that I'm having connection problems and I am put on the queue. I have no idea how long the queue is at this point, but I'm waiting 15 minutes before I get somebody on the line. No Indian accent, actually a Southern accent, and she immediately tells me before I get a word out that the whole state is out, due to an unscheduled/unpublished upgrade going on. They were replacing some cards she said. Must not be hot-swappable was my thinking. I told her thanks, and she told me that they had over 150 calls waiting in the queue at that moment.

The next morning, I had a working Internet again, but the channels were still screwey on the TV, but later that morning they were all there.
