Waiting for Godot, no Frances and being ready for it.
(repost from Teoti.com)
I made my (hopefully) last trip to the grocery store before we get slammed with Francis here. Just some small stuff, eggs, and some other goodies for breakfast in the morning, some bleach to wash out two coolers.
I have water, I have all sorts of food, drinks, dried fruit and berries and candy. I have it stashed in the hall closet, where we will have ready access to it if we are living in the hall (the only place without a window in the house) if it gets too rough.
The track of Frances right now makes it possible to hit anywhere on the Florida Atlantic coast right now.
I did not board up any windows. I checked the whole neighborhood tonight, and only one house was boarded up. I have tape to tape up the windows (less to worry about if the glass does break) if it looks like they might need it.
The front yard is picked up. The back patio needs things put into the garage, and the barbecue needs to be put against the garage. I see a nasty dead limb on a pine tree on our property, but I'm not about to climb the 30 feet to get to it to saw it down.
We're getting our pool redone, and who knows what's going to happen with Frances. Right now it's filling with water. We have one pump sucking out ground water to keep the liner from floating, and we've got a vacuum pump hooked up to the vinyl liner to keep it flat against the wall, and to keep air bubbles out. I really don't know what to expect tomorrow.
The_Rose had Garfield in Kentucky this afternoon, but I have no idea of where they are right now. If Garfield is having his way, they are on the way home, driving through tonight. If so, I should be expecting them around 8AM tomorrow.
So pray tonight. Pray for all of us Floridian Teotians that we get through this the best we can. Pray even for the Floridian's that aren't Teotians.
